Late last winter, I had the pleasure of developing and producing a handmade gifts story for this year's special holiday issue of Better Homes and Garden's Do It Yourself. Each gift comes together in less than an hour (and most are much faster to make than that!) and are simple ways to spread a little holiday joy. I wrote a post for The Kitchn with one of my habits related to talking about food and the rush of dietary changes in the air this month. I'm all for eating better and taking positive steps to improve our health, but I do think that it's important to remember that how we talk about those changes can also have a big impact.

Arguably the best part of Christmas morning for my husband is the kolaches, and while I came to them later in life—I come from a big Italian family who loves their Panettone—I now love them. And I love that they are a tradition that our girls will grow up with too.

Since having a baby in the spring, I've really streamlined things in the kitchen. I wanted to share some of our current favorite recipes—which are perfect for the adults and the sometimes finicky little eaters in your house—in a brand new recipe collection called Yummy Family Food. It's a quarterly cookbook that is available in digital and printed magazine forms and it's filled with fast, easy, and easy to customize recipes that even the littlest eaters can enjoy. Which means less time cooking and happier meals!

There's a new entertaining magazine on newsstands now from Better Homes and Gardens that includes a tomato tasting party that I helped create projects for and style. I loved working on this story because the projects were simple, yet pretty, and we got to rely on fresh summer herbs for much of the color and beauty.
I also got to borrow an impressive collection of blue mason jars from a local vintage shop, which turned out to pair wonderfully with nasturtiums and the herbs,
